There is a Firefly-worthy familiarity in this image that has not escaped the notice of Cornell University scientist Jim Bell, as quoted on the National Geographic Magazine website. Sunsets on Mars cast a faint bluish-glow over the dark red cliffs. This image is not a terraformed planet, but it does suggest that we are not as geologically unique as we may seem.
